Martin King

Martin specialises in solving complex business and people issues. He works to find solutions that are fair, deal thoroughly with the issues, and can last. With his considerable cross sectoral experience, over four decades in business, trade unions, academia and consulting, Martin has a rich basis for his work with clients. 

At the core of how he works is a capacity to grasp the complexity of the issues facing a client and see the whole picture very quickly. Advising, guiding, facilitating, mediating, arbitrating, training – Martin uses some of or all these skills in every assignment. 

Knowledge and skill sharing is central to the Ampersand philosophy and Martin sets out to ensure that, through his work, clients are better able to deal with future issues early and effectively.

Martin holds an MBA (Dublin City University) and a PhD (Trinity College Dublin), and he is a member of the adjunct faculty in the TCD School of Business. He is Founder of the Irish Industrial Relations Trust, which supports the search for excellence through relevant academic research in the field.
