Brian brings extensive HRM experience and considerable specialist expertise in employee relations, employment law, conflict resolution, pay and pensions, and job evaluation. Over the last 40 years, he has been involved in some of the most complex employment relations and employment law issues, both as a Director of HR and an independent consultant.
His reputation is as effective and thorough, a safe pair of hands in addressing difficult and often sensitive issues across Irish industry and organisations, in grievance and dispute investigations, thorough and fair job evaluation, or as a mediator bringing seemingly intractable issues to a conclusion. Nationally, Brian has been involved in monitoring national pay and other employment agreements, ensuring their just application and resolving disputed terms.
Brian built his knowledge and skills through senior HRM management positions in major industrial companies, and as an academic and trade union official. He has served as a non-executive Director, and as Chairman of the Irish Association of Pension Funds, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the Construction Industry Pension Review, and the Construction Industry Monitoring Agency. He has been a trustee on pension schemes and a member of the Commission on Public Service Pensions.
