Catherine Byrne

Catherine is an experienced workplace facilitator, negotiator and mediator, with a life-long commitment to learning, human rights, social justice and the arts. She provides workplace mediation and facilitation, and leadership and strategic development support to clients. Her engaging, inclusive personality draws out the best in people and teams, facilitating effective problem solving and generating a sense of empowerment to sustain solutions.
Catherine was a Senior Policy Advisor for the Atlantic Philanthropies and has extensive experience of the influence and value of philanthropic support to advance change. She has a deep understanding of global issues and of the power of education to change people’s lives.
Catherine holds a Master’s degree in Education Training and Development (Sheffield) and is a qualified Mediator (IPA, Dublin). She studied theatre and film (Lee Strasberg Institute NYC) and is fluent in English, Gaelic and French.
She is a Non-Executive Director of Early Childhood Ireland and the Dublin Institute of Technology Students’ Union. She has recently concluded her terms on the Governing Body of Marino Institute of Education, as Chair of the DICE (Development and Intercultural Education) Project, and previously served on the boards of the Abbey Theatre, THE ARK; Oxfam Ireland, and VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas).
